Fair Doses: An Insider's Story of the Pandemic and the Global Fight for Vaccine Equity by Seth Berkley - 28th October
Dear Claudia,
I wondered if you might be interested in seeing a proof of Fair Doses: An Insider's Story of the Pandemic and the Global Fight for Vaccine Equity by Seth Berkley for extract or feature consideration?
Berkley is an internationally recognized infectious disease epidemiologist and public health leader who served as CEO of Gavi, the vaccine alliance, from 2011 to 2023 and co-founded COVAX, which was the fastest scale up of vaccines in history and the biggest cooperation between countries since the Paris Climate Accord.
Fair Doses is a story of vaccines: how they came about, why they are important, and how they have been made globally available—although our quest for vaccine equity is still ongoing. Berkley offers an inside view of the challenges of developing and disseminating vaccines for a broad swath of illnesses, from Ebola to AIDS to malaria and beyond.
He also documents the myriad challenges the COVAX team had to navigate during the Pandemic, including many unreported details. The book offers insight into what worked well and what didn’t and why—lessons that will be critical for the next pandemic.
I've attached a press release for more information about the book and Seth, who has written for the New Scientist before. Let me know if you'd like to see a proof.
Best wishes,
Sophie
